The OTTOBAHN pod system on elevated rail tracks blends seamlessly into the cityscape and creates space for pedestrians and green areas. At the same time, our rail network can be greened and equipped with solar cells that can provide the power for the cabins. These in turn are made of extremely lightweight and robust materials and are shaped bionically, what ensures lower air resistance.

Durable, comfortable, safe

The OTTOBAHN infrastructure has a service life of 100 years. The patented passive switch system has no moving parts and reduces maintenance to a minimum.

Our tracks run at a height of 5-10 meters. With the help of an integrated lifting module, the cabins can be lowered to the ground practically anywhere within seconds.

Each cabin is equipped with a series of high-precision sensors that detect any person or obstacle in the entry area. This ensures a safe lowering process of the pod to the ground.

Energy-efficient, fast, modular

Wheel-rail system: The OTTOBAHN’s small and lightweight pod are driven by efficient electric motors. Air resistance is reduced by the bionically inspired shape and can be further reduced by coupling to convoys.

A smart speedster: A continuous speed of 60 km/h in the city? Not just a fantasy with OTTOBAHN. A top speed of up to 250 km/h is possible. This means you can travel from Munich to Berlin within 2.5 hours.

Tailor-made comfort and maximum efficiency: The cabins are modular, so that the interior of each cabin can be adjusted for multiple usecases – e.g. as a single or four-seater or as a cargo model.

Traveling with family or friends? Our spacious pods can seat up to four people – with a variety of entertainment for all ages.


Loads up to one ton can be transported with OTTOBAHN. In this way, we create new transport capacities and relieve the strain on the local infrastructure.


Cabins can be equipped for people with special needs, creating accessibility and travel comfort for all OTTOBAHN passengers.


From door to door - whenever and wherever you want


All cabs coordinate their routes with each other using AI. This means optimized travel and on-time arrival at the destination.

By using intelligent algorithms, the traffic flow in the OTTOBAHN network is optimized in real time and controlled in an energy-efficient way.


Our autonomously driving cabins find their individual route through the rail network and take you safely and directly to your destination – without changing trains or stopping in between. With OTTOBAHN, every connection becomes a direct connection.


Ride whenever and wherever you want – without timetables and delayed buses or trains. Within the OTTOBAHN network, you can board and ride at any time and place of your choice. The cabins can be lowered to the ground at any point.

Questions and answers

The cabins of the OTTOBAHN run 5-10 m above the ground. The elevated tracks can be installed over existing infrastructure such as roads, rails and highways. The OTTOBAHN system is designed for both short and long distances.

Each cabin is powered by efficient electric motors. Our infrastructure provides plenty of space for solar panels – because we not only want to be emission-free, but also CO2-neutral.

Essentially, each pod is autonomous and decides for itself which route it will take. The pods share information with each other, such as which route they will take, to avoid traffic jams, accidents and similar.

The OTTOBAHN combines both worlds: The cabins are deployed and maintained as in public transport systems. At the same time, the pods take each passenger individually to their destination, just like a taxi.

In the future, it will also be possible to buy an individually equipped cabin.

The OTTOBAHN will be integrated into the local public transport ticketing system. Existing subscriptions can be used with the OTTOBAHN.

The pods can be booked individually and offer the comfort of a private cabin at the price of a public transport ticket.

We will make the OTTOBAHN significantly safer than today’s transportation systems.

Rail systems today carry the most passengers and have the fewest traffic fatalities worldwide. The OTTOBAHN builds on this proven technology.

The OTTOBAHN moves above the road on its own infrastructure and is thus separated from external influences such as other road users. Operation is completely autonomous, so we additionally rule out human error.

Yes. OTTOBAHN can be used by people with limited mobility and people with disabilities. We consider the needs of all users equally.

The small and lightweight pods of the OTTOBAHN are powered by efficient electric motors. The friction between the steel wheels and the rail tracks is significantly lower than that between the rubber wheels of a car and the road. This enables an energy consumption equivalent of only 0.5 l per 100 km.

We also rely 100% on renewable energies for power generation. On our infrastructure, we provide areas for solar cells. So we are not only emission-free locally, but also globally.

The OTTOBAHN has the potential to solve existing traffic problems in cities worldwide. It is 5-10 times cheaper and more efficient than any other transportation system (car, train, bus, etc.). It fulfills many needs of passengers: on demand, no switching lines and environmentally friendly, directly to the destination!

At this stage, there is already almost 40m test track in our office in Munich. In Taufkirchen in the south of Munich, a nearly 1km long test and reference track will be built.
