A city street with ottobahn pods on the ottobahn railways, one pod is lowered to the ground while the other 3 pods are moving forward on the rail besides.

ottobahn will establish its high capacity network above today’s traffic. Tracks will perfectly integrate into existing cityscapes and free up space for pedestrians and parks.

Based on light yet robust materials, our tracks are supposed to last 100 years. Our patented passive switches reduce downtimes and maintenance costs significantly.

Our tracks will be installed at a height of 5-10 meters. A built-in lifting system can lower each pod to the ground literally everywhere within a few seconds.

Equipped with a set of high precision sensors, any person or obstacle in the boarding area will be detected, assuring a safe descent of the pod to the ground.

Our intelligent fleet management will ensure optimal traffic flow throughout the ottobahn system. The pods autonomously determine their optimal routing, bringing you to your destination as fast as possible.

On highly frequented sections, parallel running rails will enable smooth integration of boarding and disembarking into the running traffic flow.

ELECTRIC DRIVE – SUPERIOR AERODYNAMICS

Each pod has its own running gear with proven wheel-rail-technology. The 2.4 kW electrical powertrain has an energy consumption of 1.8 kWh/100 km. Cruising speed can reach up to 250 km/h.

Its outer shape is developed through bionic design methods, with a targeted air drag coefficient of less than 0.2. On intercity connections, the pods are convoying to exploit aerodynamical advantages.

The pods have a modular structure, enabling individual interior fittings and adaption to a variety of use cases.
