Fire Safety — Master Thesis

You will be part of the team that is developing solutions for our vision of a flexible traffic system without traffic jams or delays.

You determine and describe the possible fire scenarios for system-immanent and externally acting fires. You propose passive and active fire protection measures and their implementation. This also includes an in-depth investigation of the technical feasibility.

Functional Safety Manager (m/f/d) — Full-time

You will be part of the team that is developing solutions for our vision of a flexible traffic system without traffic jams or delays.

You cooperate with our engineering teams to ensure that ottobahn is safe for everyone. You supervise and control the fulfillment of all safety measures. You prove the safety of the system to third parties like assessment bodies or authorities.

Your eligibility:

  • Experience in safety management
  • Experience with methods for risk analysis
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards either IEC 62061, IEC 61508, EN 50126 or ISO 13849
  • Passion for new solutions
  • Motivation to work conscientiously as well as goal-oriented
  • Fluent in English and German
Software Developer Algorithms/Optimization/AI (m/f/d) — Full-time

You will be part of the team that is developing solutions for our vision of a flexible traffic system without traffic jams or delays. You will develop algorithms and solutions for traffic volume predictions, traffic flow optimization and order/reservation logistics. Your solutions will be integrated first in our ottobahn simulation engine and then come to life on our reference tracks.

Your eligibility:

  • A background in mathematics/informatics/physics or similar
  • Advanced experience in python programming and another programming language
  • Experience in team-oriented software development
  • Passion for algorithm development
  • Motivation to work scientifically as well as application oriented
  • Fluent in English and German
Software Developer and Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d) — Full-time

You will be part of the team that is developing solutions for our vision of a flexible traffic system without traffic jams or delays. You will be designing and implementing a cloud infrastructure that processes all data collected from our ottobahn simulations and provides operators and end-customers with meaningful interfaces to the system. The same infrastructure will later be used on our reference tracks.

Your eligibility:

  • A background in informatics
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure providers (GCP, AWS or Azure)
  • Experience in full-stack web development (we are using Go, MongoDB and React so far, but these are not strictly required)
  • Experience in team-oriented software development
  • Fluent in English and German
Vehicle Control System Engineer (m/f/d) — Full-time

You will be part of the team that is developing solutions for our vision of a flexible traffic system without traffic jams or delays.
You will be part of our engineering team to ensure that the ottobahn is safe for everyone.
You will be developing safety-critical and noncritical controllers for our Pods. Tasks can vary from our Collision Avoidance system over door controls to basic things like controlling the AC or interior lighting. In-Pod, inter-Pod, and Pod-Cloud communication will be a major focus. You will contribute to the whole development process from design to the certification process.

Your eligibility:

  • A background in software or electronics development for railway or automation engineering
  • Multiple years of work experience in that field
  • Experience with fail-safe PLC systems or fail-safe computers in general
  • Terms like SIL2 are nothing new for you
  • Knowledge in implementation of control systems according to either IEC 62061, IEC 61508 or ISO 13849
  • Passion for new solutions
  • Motivation to work conscientiously as well as goal-oriented in a small, yet productive team
  • You want to make a difference
  • Fluent in English and German
Vehicle Engineer (m/f/d) — Full-time

You will be part of the team that is developing solutions for our vision of a flexible traffic system without traffic jams or delays.

Your field of responsibility includes the further mechanical development of our gondola vehicles. You are responsible for different components and the communication with external suppliers and development partners.

Your eligibility:

  • Degree (B.Sc. / M.Sc.) in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. mechanical engineering, vehicle engineer, …)
  • Excellent skills in the areas of problem-solving and communication
  • First experiences with Requirement Engineering
  • Pragmatic thinking and craftsmanship
  • Skills in 3D Design, e.g. with SolidWorks
  • Passion for new solutions
  • Team player
  • You want to make a difference
  • Fluent in English and German
